I have always taken full use of the health testing facilities available, and adhere to our breed clubs code of ethics. In June 2011, after a successful and in depth visit from Mr Bill Lambert form the Kennel Club, I was accepted as a member of the "KC Assured Breeder Scheme"
The Exelby labradors are situated in the beautiful rural setting just outside Lockerbie in SW Scotland. All my dogs live in my home as part of the family. My pups are born and reared in the home and by the time they are 8weeks old and ready to join their new owners, they are very well socialised, with other dogs, children, cats and the occasional pheasant or two roaming the garden.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
My father used to show his Border Terriers, and when I was around 8 years old, I was allowed to show a dog for the 1st time. But, it was the Labrador ring that held my fascination.
When I married, my husband owned 3 working labradors, and taking on the role of the 'good wife' I joined him in his little hobby..'the shoot'. I was hooked. Nearly 30 years later my return to the showring has been a wonderful experience, and I have loved every moment of it.
In addition to showing, We can be found on a local shoot, mainly in the beating line up, but hopefully in the not too distant future, with young Rosie (Exelby Regenesis) and Raymond (ssshhhh... a Flatcoat) we will be back out picking up. Training is going very well for these youngsters.
